The Hunter Region Botanic Gardens invites you to participate in the Backyard Bug Hunt, an Australia-wide citizen science event in conjunction with iNaturalist.
This is an audit to discover what bugs live where. Maybe you will find a rare insect. Maybe you will find an insect pest that we need to know about.
There will be insect experts on hand to talk about bugs and answer your questions.
We will walk, find bugs and photograph them to upload to the iNaturalist site.
Suitable for all ages but it will be a slow walk so patience is required.
Please download the iNaturalist app onto your phone before you arrive.
Usual Gardens entry fee of $5 per person applies. It is free to participate in the survey.
Bookings preferred via Humanitix.
