ORRCA is looking for volunteers to observe and count local dolphins around Port Stephens Bay. We need your help !! No experience necessary. Participate from land or on your boat. We only need one hour of your time . Sunday 15 November , 10:00am-11:00am. In 2019, the census recorded 120 individual dolphins during the one-hour survey. In 2024, sightings dropped to 42 individuals, and for 2025 the count was only 25 dolphins. While this does not necessarily reflect a direct population decline, the trend highlights the importance of ongoing monitoring to better understand changes in dolphin numbers and distribution.
