Who doesn’t love a good shipwreck story? In time for the school holidays, ‘Shipwrecked!’, an exhibition about shipwrecks in the Port Stephens and Newcastle areas, will be held at the Tomaree Heritage Precinct hall, from Saturday, September 26, to Friday, October 23. Hours are 9am to 3pm and entry is free.
Local historian John ‘Stinker’ Clarke will give two talks:
- ‘Shipwrecks, including my own’ at 2pm Tuesday September 29
- A history of the area’s lighthouses at 2pm Thursday, October 22.
Wooden model ships and other artefacts will be on display.
