I grew up in Sydney. I originally bought in Port Stephens in 1999, however during my professional career I was fortunate to work all over Australia and extensively overseas. Port Stephens was therefore always my home away from home but it never left me.
I do not have a scintilla of prior radio experience (yes I know it shows!). Although as a kid I fondly remember 2SM, (before the advent of FM radio), with its commanding neon light overlooking Blues Point at Milsons Point and thought that was the coolest place to be. So, I think I have always been a frustrated radio announcer.
Growing up I was lucky to experience the Aussie rock pub scene. In those days we would search the Daily Telegraph for live acts performing across Sydney. There were just so many acts to choose from. We would all pack into cars and traverse all corners of Sydney to see great Aussie icons such as INXS, Midnight Oil, Mentals, Laughing Clowns, Dragon and Divinyls, just to name a few.
For me those early experiences were formidable. While my music tastes are diverse, I do have a genuine love of Aussie Rock. Away from PSFM, I lead a very busy life- keeping fit, follower of Knights and Cronulla Rugby League teams, Warringah Rugby Club, keen Thespian and academic researcher.
