Originally from the UK our house was always full of the sound of music. It was a wide mix of classical, opera, pop, big bands, musicals… As a family we always listened to the top 20 on the BBC at tea time on a Sunday evening. As I got older I listened to radio Luxembourg and the North Sea pirate radio stations such as Radio Caroline. I am very lucky to have been a teenager growing up with the music of the 1970s.
I have seen most of the biggest bands of the 1970s and 80s in concert. Some of the most memorable concerts I have attended would include The Rolling Stones at Knebworth Park, Queen’s iconic Hyde Park concert, Pink Floyd the Wall, Split Enz on their first UK tour, and AC-DC’s last London concert with Bon Scott. I also enjoy musicals and classical concerts, and am fortunate to have seen the Sydney Symphony Orchestra many times.
In 1984 I backpacked around the world and loved Australia so much I made my way back here as soon as I could after returning to the UK. I lived in Sydney until moving to Port Stephens in 2023. I initially contacted PSFM in response to a request for help in building up the music library. The next thing I knew I was in training to be a presenter (Thank you YT!) as part of this great team at PSFM.
When not at the radio station you might find me dragon boating, bushwalking, or at a trivia night somewhere.
